The Type 2 SPD Surge Protective Device 20–40kA 1000V DC 2-Pole (LKX-PV) offers reliable Class II surge protection for high-voltage photovoltaic and DC power systems, effectively suppressing transient overvoltage, switching surges, and induced lightning currents. Built with high-energy MOV components, thermal disconnection protection, and fast response design, it ensures stable and safe operation for PV arrays, combiner boxes, string inverters, battery-storage systems, DC distribution panels, and off-grid or hybrid solar installations up to 1000V DC.

    Installation considerations

    1. Prior to mounting, verify that electrical supply is isolated. Working on live equipment is absolutely forbidden.
    2. A protective fuse or breaker should be serially connected upstream of the lightning arrester unit.
    3. Refer to wiring schematics for proper installation. Positive DC connects to DC+, negative to DC-, with PE as earth ground. Prevent reverse polarity. Upon completion, activate the protection device (fuse/breaker) and confirm normal operational indicators.
    4. Post-installation, properly seat the component and validate correct functioning of the overvoltage protector.
    5. Routine maintenance should include visual inspection of the SPD and monitoring of its diagnostic indicator. Either a red warning display or alarm contact activation denotes device failure requiring immediate replacement.
    6. Multi-unit surge suppressors in parallel configuration must maintain true parallel wiring, using minimal-length, large-gauge conductors with secure terminations and straight-line routing.
