Residential Surge Protection Device 600V 2P T2| LKX-PV
Type 2 DC Surge Protection

Residential Surge Protection Device 600V 2P T2| LKX-PV

The Type 2 SPD Surge Protective Device 20–40kA 600V DC 2-Pole (LKX-PV) is engineered for photovoltaic and DC power systems, delivering reliable Class II protection against transient overvoltage, switching surges, and induced lightning currents. Built with high-energy MOV + thermal disconnector technology, it ensures rapid response, stable DC performance, and long-term protection for solar PV arrays, combiner boxes, string inverters, DC distribution panels, energy-storage systems, and off-grid power installations.

    Installation considerations

    1. Prior to installation, make sure the power supply is turned off. Working on live equipment is strictly forbidden.
    2. A fuse or circuit breaker should be connected in series upstream of the surge protector for added safety.
    3. Refer to the wiring diagram for proper installation. Connect DC+ to the positive terminal, DC- to the negative terminal, and PE to the grounding wire. Ensure correct polarity to prevent wiring errors. Once installed, turn on the circuit breaker (or fuse) and verify normal operation.
    4. Once installed, securely mount the module and confirm that the surge protector is operating as intended.
    5. Periodically check the surge protector and monitor the fault indicator. A red fault indicator or an alarm signal from the remote terminal means the surge protector has failed and must be repaired or replaced immediately.
    6. For parallel-connected surge protectors, ensure proper parallel wiring. Use short, thick, straight, and securely fastened cables for optimal performance.
